Hello folks, It's been an age!
I've been ghosting for way too long without a journal update.
I've been a bit shy about posting art here in really what has been the last 3ish or so years. I've been having that good ol existential crisis and reality shock regarding how I'm going to build a career and earn enough to support myself (preferably through art or some other creative medium). So I got really anxious and insecure for quite a bit and started to develop an unhealthy perfectionism that's prevented me from posting anything until recently.
Better to have that crisis now rather than later I suppose.
I've had a more experienced art friend with a particularly discerning eye point out all of my issues and drill me on anatomy and art fundamentals which really felt like I was starting back at zero. Looking at some of my latest work, I feel that by going for more slightly more realism over the pseudo anime style I've developed over the years is making things look really weird and kind of off, but it's getting back to a place where it isn't so bad so i feel like I can return to posting!
Things are probably still going to be odd for a while so please bear with me.No longer, shall I cover up dodgy anatomy with pretty patterns!
Or hide my hands!
Or ignore geometric form!
Okay the nonsensical shadows going to stay because I like shading things, it's almost like therapy. Nay I say!
Another great help has also been the ever fantastic Istebrak!
whose YouTube channel quite frankly opened my eyes to a whole conga line of issues and has given me a sharper eye to all my mistakes. (I highly recommend her YouTube channel, I've learn t more in 3 months than I have in years of practicing on my own.)
That being said I have since graduated from Game Design School and am now a certified Game designer!
I've been developing a couple of video games and hanging on an epic discord with some fellow deviants who are awesome and that you should probably check out
because shameless plug. As well as creating an endless supply of pixel art that's probably not going to become anything because my coding skill is extremely questionable...
I might post some of it on here because why not
Might as well also link the poor soul that's been putting up with an endless barrage of code related questions and quite honestly, has the patience of a saint. Legitimately, I don't know how they've put up with me the last year or so with me screeching that my code broke (Only to find it was a missing semi colon or syntax error).
<-- This programming legend
I'm also working on 2 webcomics which both have their own distinctive style and completely different genres which is probably going to be a huge train wreck, but you can't spell Painting without Pain.
So look forward to that mess whenever it decides to poof into existence
